I offer short or long term psychotherapy for individuals and couples, for a wide range of difficulties, including all aspects of relationship struggles, grief and loss issues, depression, sexuality, anxiety and trauma.
Long term psychotherapy provides an unpressured context in which significant and profound systemic change can occur. If you have recurrent negative patterns which get in the way of living a full life, a history of trauma or major losses, or lack a sense of connection to yourself, the world, or both, long term psychotherapy will almost certainly be of use to you. Depression and anxiety are reliable signals that something needs to be understood at a deeper level before needed change can happen, with life crises offering the possibility of transformative change.
Short term psychotherapy and counselling can give symptomatic relief and understanding of particular issues or anxieties. This is useful when anxiety attacks, a sudden and identifiable personal crisis. or difficulty with managing life transitions, disturb an otherwise relatively untroubled life. Sometimes it becomes clear that deeper issues are surfacing alongside the current problem, and then longer term work may be indicated.

When I was first referred to you I wasn't sure what dynamic psychotherapy was, how it worked, or indeed, even if it would work for me ... but I was in enough despair to seek you out and take that leap of faith.
Now, some two and a half years later, I want to say "thank you" from the bottom of my heart for helping me heal.

I have suffered from depression periodically over the last 25 years, and tried every possible treatment that I could find, from the more conventional, to most of the alternative therapies. I was prepared to try anything.
In February of 2013, I suffered a particularly serious depressive episode, the worst yet - I was suicidal, as I could see no way out. I started seeing Jacqui for weekly Psychotherapy, and we started the gradual long, slow path to recovery, that was at times very uncomfortable. However I started to have hope that this time, I was actually getting somewhere with the treatment.
