A person
usually consults a psychotherapist when they feel 'stuck' or overwhelmed.
The therapist, a trained and experienced listener, develops a working
relationship with the client based on curiosity, insight and empathy.
Together they develop a deep understanding of the underlying, often
unconscious, issues causing the client's distress. The new awareness
is to enable the client to make better choices, free them from destructive
patterns and provide sustainable solutions.
Miranda
provides short-term and long-term psychotherapy and counselling.
She has over twenty years of experience working with individuals,
couples and families across a broad range of difficulties. She has
in depth experience and interest in working with issues of abuse
and trauma, grief and loss, depression (including post-natal), stress
and anxiety, somatic (mind-body) issues, parenting difficulties,
immigration and adjustment. Miranda specialises in treating relationship
problems, including work, couple and family relationships, including
blended families.
Miranda
offers a five session "Motherhood Programme" to help pregnant
mothers understand their new in utero relationship, bond better
and help protect against post natal depression. This programme is
linked in with the New Born Fathers Group.
